January District Meet Results

Eleven of our quizzers participated at the District JBQ meet on Saturday, January 2, in Columbia. Participants included 3 B-team quizzers (Breanna Cole, Nichole Palomarez and Matthew Jenkins), as well as 8 Rookie quizzers (Abby Emry, Seth Groom, Jonathan Archer, Breana Lundy, Laken Manns, Ethan Groom, Hailey Strohm and Taylen Manns). Following is a highlight of the accomplishments of our quizzers.

Special Accomplishments:  Special kudos go to Jonathan, Abby, and Laken.

• Jonathan had a “perfect” day of quizzing, scoring the maximum possible points (420) in 6 rounds, with 100% accuracy. This is the first time he has accomplished such a rare feat!
• Abby recorded 2 quiz outs, which marks the first time she has quizzed out in her 2 years as a JBQer!
• Laken recorded her first quiz out this quiz year!

Top Rookie Team:  The team of Seth and Jonathan were undefeated, finishing with a 6-0 record. While Jonathan scored 420 points, Seth was right behind him with 400 points. They were awarded the monthly (team) traveling trophy for their achievement.

Top Individual Quizzers: Six of our quizzers recorded at least one hundred points at the meet. These quizzers include:

• Jonathan Archer – 420 points (in 6 rounds)
• Seth Groom – 400 points (in 6 rounds)
• Breana Lundy – 240 points (in 6 rounds)
• Breanna Cole – 210 points (in 4 rounds)
• Abby Emry – 205 points (in 6 rounds)
• Laken Manns – 120 points (in 6 rounds)

Quiz Outs: Six quizzers received ribbons for quizzing out in one or more matches, as follows:
