What a privilege and blessing to come together in the house of the Lord and worship, pray, and minister to one another! Andy Hoffecker and the worship team led us in a beautiful time of worship as we entered into His presence!
Today we began a three-day spiritual emphasis revival with Tim & Rochelle Enloe. Their ministry includes anointed music, preaching and teaching the Word, and extended times of seeking God. Brother Tim’s teaching is designed to help believers go from understanding to experiencing to practicing the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Using various scriptures, he showed us the five basic encounters a believer has with the work of the Holy Spirit. The first four are internal encounters which involve the Holy Spirit’s convicting work (John 16:8), regenerating work (Titus 3:5), indwelling work (Romans 8:9), and maturing work (Galatians 5:22-23). The fifth is a subsequent, external empowering work (Acts 1:8), where the believer is baptized in the Holy Spirit (or “filled with” the Spirit). A primary purpose of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is to give us boldness and power to witness for Christ, so the lost will be won to the Lord. The baptism in the Holy Spirit (as evidenced by speaking in other tongues), initially occurred on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2: 1-8). It was the beginning of the fulfillment of God’s promise in Joel 2:28-29 to pour out His Spirit on all His people in the end times. That promise is still available to all believers today!
