Summary of Recent Services

It was a great day to be in the house of the Lord and began with Andy Hoffecker leading us in a time of worship. We also enjoyed a musical duet presented by Sara and Makenzie Shockley entitled “Hosanna.”   We were presented with a slide show of the recent mission trip to Chile.  Those who participated from our church were Pastor Roger, Rick Fortner, and Eddie and Irene Harrison.  Each of them shared with us a testimony about their time and experiences in Chile.

Pastor Roger’s morning message was entitled “What Time Is It?”   Today’s newspapers carry multiple stories that are fulfillment of Biblical prophecies concerning the return of Jesus Christ.  The increase of earthquakes and natural disasters are but one sign of the Lord’s soon return.  The aligning of Russia with Iran with the intent being the demise of Israel is yet another.  He reminded us that just as in the day of Queen Esther, God is looking for a people to bless and protect Israel.  He has promised to bless the people or nations who bless Israel and to curse those who curse Israel.

In light of these facts, we should recognize that it is time for God’s people to prepare for the  coming of the Lord.  We need to choose to serve the Lord faithfully and to pray.  We need to have our house in order and avoid entanglement in worldly, sinful endeavors.  We need to share the gospel with those who do not know Jesus.  And finally, it’s time for God’s people to bless and pray for Israel.  It’s time for God’s people to be serious with God!

It is Women’s Ministry Week in the Assemblies of God and our women conducted our evening worship service.  It began with a fantastic time of worship as Valerie Hoffecker directed an all women’s choir.  Next, we enjoyed a humorous skit by Irene Harrison, Linda Cook, Naomi Randazzo, Traci Calvert and Polly Brewer.  Pastor Diana presented the evening message, “Thirsty” and concluded the service with communion and time at the altar seeking God.
