The level of excitement is growing as we look forward to next week’s Kidzturn Family Crusade.  Polly Brewer shared with the congregation the details of the event.  It will begin Sunday, May 2 at 5:00 p.m. with recreation.  On Monday, May 3  through Wednesday, May 5, a meal will be served beginning at 5:00 p.m. along with the recreation time.  The crusade will begin in the sanctuary each night (Sun-Wed) at 6:00 p.m.  All families are invited to attend.  We ask that all children 4 years and younger be accompanied by a parent.

Andy Hoffecker and the worship team did a great job of leading us in a time of praise.  Pastor Roger then led the congregation in congratulating Cindy Ritter on receiving her “Certificate of Ministry” at last week’s District Council.  As always, God blessed us through the talent of Peggy Stanley as she sang “We Bless Your Name.”

Pastor Roger’s message was on the importance of good stewardship.  In Genesis 1:1 we see that “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”   Later in Genesis 1 we see that God intended for man to rule over or manage everything that He created.  If we are to be good stewards, we need to first recognize that everything is the Lord’s.  Indeed, a steward is simply someone who manages the property owned by another. Over half of Jesus’ parables deal with the issue of stewardship.  Many mistakenly only think of finances when the importance of stewardship is mentioned.  But stewardship actually encompasses much more including our time, talents, and future.  Daily, the Christian should acknowledge that all he possesses belongs to God and seek out His guidance in the managing of it.  Romans 14:12 tells us that “one day every one of us will give an account before God of our stewardship.”  All of us have been given unique talents, abilities and gifs and should seek to be good stewards of God’s possessions!
